During 25-30th July 2021, the RIVEAL project members attended the 12th Symposium for European Freshwater Sciences (SEFS12). This event was held as a virtual conference due to the COVID19 restrictions but with a typical program with parallel sessions, special sessions and poster sessions.
The work performed under the RIVEAL project made an appearance in the SEFS12 parallel sessions “Freshwater restoration: challenges, innovation and achievements”, “Role of freshwater ecosystems in the carbon cycle and the climate system” and “Hydromorphology: integration with ecology”. In these, the results of the project were discussed particularly concerning its outcomes regarding the effects of river regulation on freshwater biota and riparian carbon storage, as well as future predictions of aquatic biodiversity alteration facing diverse climate change scenarios.
Read the presentations abstracts, referenced bellow, in the SEFS12 Abstract Book.
