The Commemoration of CIFC´s 50 years took place at Oeiras, with the presence of the Minister of Science and Technology and Higher Education (MCTES), Heads of State, Executive Directors & other Research Institute leaders, on 29th April 2005.

In the 1st International Workshop on Durable Resistance to Coffee Leaf Rust, held in Universidade Federal de Viçosa (UFV), Minas Gerais, Brazil, on the 26th September 2005, where a special session to pay tribute to CIFC´s work took place.
