CHALLENGES AND PROBLEM SOLVING WITH DATA SCIENCE IN NATURAL RESOURCES AND ENVIRONMENT
Public workshop in the scope of the Green Data Science Master programme
Date: 11th October 2024
Time: 09:30h-11:00h
Location: ISA, Salão Nobre
Language: English
Workshop Overview:
This 2nd edition of the Green Data Science workshop will focus on exploring practical applications of machine learning in various environmental and agricultural challenges. Hackathon teams will delve into real-world case studies, such as predicting defoliation in eucalyptus plantations, automating tree species identification, developing data-driven tools for crop irrigation, and assessing the risk of wildfire spread.
Experts from RAIZ, AGROGES, ISA, and ANEPC will present the data science problems and challenges for which solutions that leverage data and machine learning to enhance decision-making will be sought by student teams. The workshop is open to all the ISA community, and marks the start of the Hackathon project team’s work to solve data science application problems.
