Our researcher Leónia Nunes and the Coordinator of CEABN InBIO, Francisco Castro Rego, were present in the general assembly of the DIABOLO project (Distributed, integrated and harmonised forest information for bioeconomy) that took place in the Austrian Research Centre for Forests (BFW) in Vienna and also in the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) in Laxenburg, Austria.

The main objectives were to discuss the evolution of the project until now and to define the future work and proceed, based in the information provided by the members Forest National Inventories, with the harmonization of the analysis methods, in particular when referencing estimation of tree volume, forest biodiversity indicators, estimation of Non-wood forest products productivity (e.g. cork and pine cones) and the methodologies of tree tops fire intensity analysis.

The work panel discussed also de best means to spread and publish the project results and the preparation of meetings and workshops to have in 2017/2018. There was also at the same time a meeting of the ENFIN, European National Forest Inventory Network, discussing future ways of collaboration between their members.
