The aim of this research area is to improve the knowledge of the impacts of management actions on the biodiversity of agricultural, agro-silvo-pastoral and forestry systems, thus contributing to a better understanding of the environmental consequences of national and EU agricultural and forest policies. Two types of studies have been conducted: studies related with biodiversity monitoring at the national and European levels, and more specific studies related with impact assessment of farming practices and land use changes on cereal steppes, and impact assessment of infra-structure building and operation (e.g. dams) on biodiversity.
