Our researcher Luísa Ferreira Nunes is the responsible for the illustration of the first of a collection of silver coins of the Portuguese Mint and Official Printing Office (INCM) on endangered species of Portugal, dedicated to the Iberian Lynx (Lynx pardinus), the most threatened feline of the planet.

This coin is followed by a book on the species and the execution is by Luís Valadares. This is the first of the series "Threatened Species", a new series of coin collections with the aim of promoting knowledge and preservation of endangered species of the national fauna and flora. This project also has the participation of Margarida Fernandes, from the Institute of Nature Conservation and Forests (ICNF) and Rodrigo Serra, from the Iberian Lynx Center.
