The CEABN InBIO, through an application to the "PO SEUR - Operational Program for Sustainability and Efficiency in the Use of Resources” financial program within the PT2020 framework, is developing a two-year project that focuses on the conservation of the Iberian Lynx.

The project entitled “Modeling the combined effect of vegetation, biotic interactions and hunting in habitats suitable for the Iberian lynx: preparation of the reintroduction conditions in Portugal” aims to support the selection of the best areas of southern Portugal for the reintroduction and establishment of future breeding populations of the Iberian Lynx. This selection will take into account the requirements of the species, the quality of the habitats available and the opinion of the local populations.

This project is coordinated by CEABN InBIO and has the collaboration of the Institute for the Conservation of Nature and Forests (ICNF) and the National Association of Rural Owners, Hunting Management and Biodiversity (ANPC).
