"Applied Landscape Ecology" was released on December 12th at the Instituto Superior de Agronomia by the authors Francisco Castro Rego and Paulo Godinho-Ferreira, from the Instituto Superior de Agronomia, including comments by João Ferrão, Research Coordinator at the Instituto de Ciências Sociais da Universidade de Lisboa (ICS), and Luísa Schmidt, ICS's Principal Researcher. The presentation included videoconference interventions by the authors Stephen C. Bunting and Eva Kristina Strand, from the University of Idaho.

The speakers highlighted the quality and national and international importance of the work as a pedagogical textbook in the field of landscape ecology. The book,  published by Wiley, is illustrated by several Portuguese examples. The preface is by Richard T. Forman and the cover is an original illustration by Luísa Nunes.
