"Efficiency of public environmental measures in post-fire restoration in Portugal"

The aim of the study is to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of public environmental measures applied at short, medium- and long-term post-fire restoration. The analysis focus firstly on restoration projects of oak woodlands carried out through public programs from 1986 to 2018, and secondly, on the emergency stabilization reports and projects from 2009 to 2018. How does the fire influence the success of such projects? What are the limiting factors for its success? Those are some of the answers we are looking for in order to contribute to the improvement of restoration policies in Portugal.
